2017 Caulfield Classic at Caulfield

The 2017 Caulfield Classic will light up Caulfield racecourse on Saturday 21st October 2017 in Melbourne, Victoria, alongside the Melbourne Racing Club’s premier race of the spring, the 2017 Caulfield Cup.

Previously run as the Norman Robinson Stakes, the race became the Caulfield Classic in 2014 and offers prizemoney of $500,000 for three-year-old gallopers.

A $500,000 bonus is also on offer for any three-year-old that can win the 2017 Caulfield Guineas or 2017 Thousand Guineas on the first day of the three-day Caulfield carnival and then take out the Caulfield Classic the following Saturday.

Robert Smerdon trained filly Fontein Ruby was the inaugural Caulfield Classic winner in 2014, followed up by another filly, Sacred Eye, in 2015.
